Printed CharuCo Target
Aluminium Composite Board
PURPOSE
This product is a Charuco calibration target designed for camera calibration, 3D reconstruction, robotic vision alignment, and photogrammetry systems. The Charuco pattern combines chessboard structure with ArUco markers, allowing robust corner detection and sub-pixel accuracy in a wide range of imaging conditions.
All printed charts are produced using advanced drop-on-demand Micro Piezo Inkjet Technology.
BASE MATERIAL
Aluminium composite panels, also known by the brand name Dibond, are a high-quality sheet material made of a polyethylene core sandwiched between two aluminium layers with a polyester varnish. This structure creates a rigid, lightweight material that is rustproof, rot-proof, waterproof, and chemically resistant. Panels are 3 mm thick.
RESOLUTIONS
We offer two resolution levels. The resolution influences line sharpness, so higher resolutions are recommended for smaller or more detailed pattern features.
High: Uses a 3.7 pl (picolitre) drop mass. Delivers higher definition than standard inkjet printing, resolving features down to 0.5 mm with edge roughness of 0.06 mm.
Standard: Uses a 10 pl (picolitre) drop mass. Suitable for general calibration needs, resolving features at 2 mm with edge roughness of 0.2 mm.
ACCURACY
We provide full accuracy data for each printed chart and can supply optional measurement certificates.
Individual Feature Size: ±0.2 mm (High), ±0.4 mm (Standard)
Overall Chart Size: ±0.5 mm (High), ±1.0 mm (Standard)
Feature Pitch: ±0.1 mm (High), ±0.2 mm (Standard)
Edge Roughness: ±0.06 mm (High), ±0.2 mm (Standard)
INSPECTION
Standard: Each chart is visually inspected for defects, pattern accuracy, and contamination. We measure overall chart dimensions and critical dimensions (CD), which are logged along with a digital image. Certificate of Conformance: A formal certificate documenting standard inspection results, based on our specified tolerances, is included when requested.
Measurement Certificate: When selected at the time of order, this certificate includes verified measurements of the overall chart size, a specific pattern feature, and feature pitch, in addition to the standard inspection process.

FAQ's
Q: What material is used for these charts, and is it suitable for industrial environments?
A: The charts are printed on aluminium composite panels (Dibond), which are rustproof, waterproof, rot-proof, and chemically resistant. These properties make them well-suited for use in demanding or exposed environments.
Q: What resolution should I choose?
A: Higher resolution (3.7 pl) allows for finer feature detail, smoother edges, and smaller minimum features (0.5 mm). Standard resolution (10 pl) is suitable for larger patterns with a 2 mm minimum feature size. If your design includes fine details or requires precise edge definition, choose the higher resolution. Contact us if you’re unsure—we're happy to advise based on your file.
Q: What accuracy can I expect from the printed chart?
A: Accuracy depends on the selected resolution. For high resolution, individual features are accurate to ±0.2 mm and pitch to ±0.1 mm. For standard resolution, the tolerances are ±0.4 mm and ±0.2 mm respectively.
Q: Can you provide inspection or measurement data with the chart?
A: Yes. All charts include a standard inspection covering visual checks and dimensional measurements, recorded internally. You can also request a Certificate of Conformance or a Measurement Certificate during ordering, depending on your documentation needs.
Q: Are the charts supplied with mounting holes or edge trimming?
A: No, we supply the panels as precision-printed sheets without additional finishing as standard. If you require custom sizing, cut-outs, or mounting features, please contact us before placing your order.
