PURPOSE
Ronchi ruling glass slides are used for evaluating optical system performance, particularly microscope resolution, field distortion, and parfocal alignment. Each slide contains a high-precision grating of line pairs, where one line pair equals one dark line and one clear line. These targets are available in a wide range of densities—from 5 lp/mm to 500 lp/mm—supporting applications from low-resolution optical inspection to high-resolution metrology. The pattern can be used to assess resolving power, contrast response, and optical alignment across the full field of view.

Slides can be cleaned, sterilized, and reused over many years of laboratory use.
RESOLUTION RANGES
- Low Resolution: 5 to 100 lp/mm (line width tolerance ±0.6 µm)
- Medium Resolution: 100 to 200 lp/mm (line width tolerance ±0.4 µm)
- High Resolution: 200 to 500 lp/mm (line width tolerance ±0.2 µm)
Please specify the required resolution range and exact line pair count when placing an order. Custom spacing within the above tolerances can be accommodated.

BASE MATERIAL
Standard slides are manufactured from soda lime glass with a low reflective chrome pattern. The chrome features a CrO oxide layer to minimize surface reflectivity. Alternative substrate options may be available upon request.
TURNAROUND
Standard production turnaround is 5 working days from order receipt. Faster turnaround options are available for urgent requirements.
INSPECTION
All photomasks undergo a comprehensive inspection process. Key parameters such as Critical Dimension (CD) and feature uniformity are measured and recorded. High-magnification images (Nikon MM40 at 900×, OGP ZIP 300 at 400×) are stored with production data. For sectors requiring compliance documentation—such as medical or automotive—optional inspection certificates can be included with the order.
Standard: Full inspection performed; no documentation supplied.
Certificate of Conformance: Confirms compliance with internal inspection standards.
Certificate of Measurement: Three line pair locations (start, centre, end) are measured to verify spacing and line width. Supplied with the slide upon request.
